TIMBER FRAMING COURSES
Oak Frame Courses are led by Alan Ritchie, one of the country's top craftsmen, with over 30 years experience in working with wood.
We currently offer intensive Timber Frame Courses hosted in a beautiful woodland workshop in the Brecon Beacons. The courses are scheduled to run over a two week period with the weekend off in-between.
These are very practical hands on courses covering a wide range of skills. From timber selection to cutting all the most commonly used joints. Most importantly we will be covering the marking out system which is unique and essential for framing green wood.
We aim to give you an insight into this ancient craft in a relaxed and enjoyable environment, so you can head home again inspired, with a few new skills under your belt.

The Course
A full scale live build project for real hands on learning. The tools and all the expert tuition that you will need.
Food and Entertainment
Breakfast, Lunch are catered through to Friday Lunchtime. In the evenings the group may choose to dine out or cook together on site. A selection of teas, fresh coffee and are also provided. There is an outdoor kitchen, large fire pit, Although you are welcome to stay with us and explore the local area on the weekend off, you will need to organise your own food for these days.
Accommodation
There is free camping for tents in the meadow and woods, and space for camper vans.
There are flushing loos, compost loos and
a hot showers!
We are only 1mile from Brecon town centre.
So if you are not a camper then there is a lot of choice for B&B or holiday lets around the area.
