Every once in a while the right combination of factors makes it possible to take the Hewnwood Courses away to do a 'Live' Build on location.

It requires the right project with all the key logistics in place: Location, Catering & Motivation.

We were lucky that in Sept 2018 all these things came together in Normandy, France.

It was truly Living the Dream .

We are now in the Process of Planning another Hewnwood Abroad

Hi Alan,

I’m back in LA. I wanted to thank you for the incredible two weeks in Normandie. It was really one of the best courses I have been on, hands down, for anything. Your kids and Chris and Simon and Julie just made for a perfect end of September. So now I’m excited to see if I can do two weeks in Wales next year.

Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant!

Just about the best way you could possibly wish to spend a week doing anything. This is the second course that I have been on with Alan, Connor and Sid; their generosity of spirit, patience and understanding makes them master teachers as well as master craftsmen. There is something about their "way" that creates a great team atmosphere where everyone is "in it together" with a clear collective aim. Great location. Oh, too much Cider, cheese, beer and lovely food: Si richly deserves his enviable oak frame!

Brilliant 2 weeks it has been epic. When I get a second I will send round a group email to everyone thanking them for everything they did towards making it such a brilliant experience on so many levels and encouraging everyone to stay in touch.
